Heart Healthy Formula Lowers Cholesterol by 30 Percent

In All Health Watch, Cholesterol, Heart and Cardiovascular

Mainstream doctors often use statin drugs to lower bad LDL cholesterol. But as we’ve written about before…they come with risky side effects.

Now there’s a new way to cut bad LDL cholesterol…boost good HDL cholesterol…and strengthen your heart. And it comes from a blend of natural extracts.

James Roza is a Chicago nutritionist who has just led a study on this natural formula. It was published in Alternative Therapies for Health and Medicine.

“Daily treatment with (it) significantly improved cardiovascular parameters,” he says. “Significant reductions were shown in total cholesterol.”

Dr. Ken Walker also believes in the formula…and thinks it’s much safer than statins.

He’s a Harvard Medical School grad…and a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons. During his career, he’s been a family doctor, hotel doctor, and a ship’s surgeon.

“Prescription drugs can kill; natural remedies rarely,” he says. “(This formula) is well tolerated with no complications…even when 50 times the regular dose is prescribed.”

So what is this statin substitute? Stay tuned as we examine the science behind it…and reveal the key to a healthy heart.

Why You Need Another Option

Many doctors still prescribe statin drugs to lower cholesterol. And studies do show that they work.

In one study…people taking cholesterol-lowering drugs (CLDs) had 22 fewer deaths from heart disease.

But it also showed an increase of 24 deaths from cancer.

Other studies also suggest they may damage your muscle and liver. You can read more about that in our article here.

And there are many doctors who say statin drugs are never the answer.

“I don’t think there is a level where it’s appropriate to start taking a statin drug,” says Dr. David Foreman. “The reason your cholesterol is high is not because you’re statin drug deficient.”

He’s a naturopathic doctor…and herbal pharmacy expert. He speaks at many of America’s most prestigious hospitals and universities.

Dr. Foreman says there are natural remedies that are just as effective…and don’t come with risky side effects. And this formula is at the top of his list.

“It will lower LDL cholesterol (and) triglycerides,” he says. “It also has a moderate effect on raising HDL.”

Putting the Formula to the Test

The formula was already shown to lower bad cholesterol in animals. So Roza and his team began testing it on humans.

Roza took people with high cholesterol and separated them into three groups. Two groups either took the formula or placebo daily…for four weeks. The third group took the formula for 12 weeks.

So what were the results?

Groups taking the formula dramatically improved…compared to those taking placebo.

Their total cholesterol dropped by up to 30 percent. LDL cholesterol fell up to 27 percent. Triglycerides were cut by over 30 percent.

Good cholesterol also increased. Roza notes that HDL levels increased by four percent in the third group.

“This combination is a promising natural option for controlling cholesterol,” he says.

The Formula Revealed

So just what is this formula? It’s mostly made up of two simple extracts…

The first extract comes from citrus. They’re called polymethoxylated flavones (PMFs). Past studies show they have cholesterol-lowering properties. They work by cutting apolipoprotein B…which is a protein needed to make bad (LDL) cholesterol.

The second part of the formula comes from palm fruit…specifically Palm tocotrienols. Tocotrienols are members of the vitamin E family but science often forgets about them.

Now researchers are realizing they benefit your heart health. They work by stopping an enzyme in the liver from creating cholesterol.

So how can you get this combination in your diet?

It’s called Sytrinol. And it combines 270 mg of citrus flavonoids with 30 mg of tocotrienols. You can find it at most health food stores.

The formula has strong evidence behind it. But you can also get the ingredients on their own.

You can get PMFs in the peels of oranges and tangerines…and tocotrienols in red palm oil. And the redder the oil the better. That’s because it’s unrefined so it’s still packed with vitamins and antioxidants. You can cook with red palm oil. And you can buy it online.
