A new study says a supplement can improve your skin elasticity by 25 percent. That means if you’re 65-years-old, your skin can look like it did in your 40s.
Dr. Jean Krutmann is the leader of the study. He’s a top aging expert at the Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine (IUF) in Düsseldorf, Germany. His results were published in Skin Pharmacology and Physiology.
Dr. Krutmann says the supplement “benefits human skin” in four ways. The results come at a good time. The anti-aging cosmetic industry is full of expensive skin care products. Most of them are loaded with chemicals…and they don’t even work.
Four Ways to Younger Skin
The way to young skin is with Pycnogenol. It’s an antioxidant extract made from the bark of the French maritime pine tree. It can help rebuild your skin…no matter how old you are.
Dr. Krutmann studied 20 healthy women. They were between the ages of 55 and 68. He gave them 75 mg of Pycnogenol for 12 weeks.
The women saw four major benefits to their skin:
- Skin elasticity was enhanced by 25 percent.
- Skin hydration improved by eight percent. It improved by 21 percent for those with dry skin.
- Wrinkles were reduced by three percent.
- Smoothness was increased by six percent.
It works by triggering a skin-repairing molecule. And it’s the only natural supplement that can do it. Dr. Krutmann says it “stimulates hyaluronic acid production in human skin.”
But it doesn’t just “stimulate.” It boosted hyaluronic acid by 44 percent. This is directly related to better skin hydration, smoother skin, and higher skin elasticity.
Two Benefits Beyond the Study
More research shows Pycnogenol can help your skin two other ways. It can promote glowing skin…and it will reduce skin inflammation.
Dr. Krutmann found 75 mg to be an effective dose. But clinical studies have used up to 360 mg safely for other conditions.
It’s available in capsule form online or in any health store. You can also find it in some creams…and apply it directly to your face.
